CBSE Grading System in Class 12 ?
After the decision to start grading system in Class X board examinations, the government may introduce a similar system in Class XII, Minister for Human Resource Development Kapil Sibal said on Thursday.
Mr. Sibal said the idea has already been mooted and a committee has been set up. It will examine how grading could be introduced at Class XII.
“We had a brainstorming session on this,” the minister told reporters here on the sidelines of a meeting on the school education programme.
After the committee gives its report, it will go the Central Advisory Board for Education and then to the Council of Boards of School Education in India (CoBSE).
The HRD ministry has introduced grading system at Class X under the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) from this year.
The nine-point system starts from A1 (a grade for students who have done exceptionally well in the exam) to E2 (unsatisfactory performance).
He said consultations were being held with the stake-holders to arrive at a conclusion on introducing grading system in Class XII.
It is also looking at the feasibility of conducting a national-level entrance test, like Scholastic Aptitude Test, with national percentile scores in different subjects for undergraduate programmes.
This is in thinking process. No decision has been taken.

is the grading system for 10 class just on a trial period?
are there any chances to jnow our marks after we get our grades. clearly explain wat the nine point grade means. when will we get an A1 grade 91-100 or 95-100
Hi Neha, What I understand from the grading system is 91-100 is A1 and 81-90 is A2, 71-80 is B1 and 61-70 is B2 and so on. A1 grade is given 10 points and A2 9 points and so on. If you get A1, A1, A2, A2, B1 in 5 subjects, then your GPA (Grade point Average) in your 10th board will be 10 + 10 + 9 + 9 + 8 = 46 / 5 = 9.2.
Hope I made it clear.
pls tell me that r u using grading system in this year or not…………..
Sir,
Kerala Ministry of education is planning to consider 50% of the marks secured in the 12th Exam and 50% of the Common Entrance Test for Medical and Engineering selection. If CBSE consider grading for 12th also how the students will know their marks.
cbse grading system has ruined the charm of 10th board…………….it has also made the students careless…………competetive spirit is lost!!!!!!!1
